Primary Election

June 5, 2018

  • April 2: Petition filing deadline for Primary Election. (64 days before Primary)
  • April 11: Last day to file Change of Party Affiliation declaration form for the Primary Election. (55 days before Primary)
  • May 15: Last day to register to vote for the June Primary Election. Board of Elections office open until 9 p.m. (21 days before Primary)
    Last day to file a change of residence.
  • May 22: On or before this date, applications for appointment of Challengers for Primary Election shall be filed with the County Board of Elections.
  • May 29: Last day to apply for a Mail-in Ballot application (formerly civilian absentee ballot) for the Primary Election
  • May 30: Mailing of sample ballots for Primary Election.
  • June 1: A qualified overseas voter who wishes to receive a faxed, emailed or mailed federal ballot for the Primary Election, must apply to the County Clerk no later than the fourth day before the Primary Election.
  • June 4: A Mail-in Ballot Voter who misses the deadline may apply in person at the County Clerk for a Mail-in Ballot up to 3:00 p.m. the day before the election.
  • June 5Primary Election Day.
    • Polls open 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
    • Mail-in Ballots must be submitted in person by 8 p.m.
  • June 20: Recount application deadline for Primary Election.

General Election

November 6, 2018

  • August 13: Drawing of ballot position for General Election candidates by County Clerk.
  • October 16: Last day to register to vote for the November General Election. Board of Elections office open until 9 p.m.
    Last day to file a change of residence.
  • October 23: On or before this date, applications for appointment of Challengers for General Election shall be filed with the County Board of Elections.
  • October 30: Last day to apply for a Mail-in Ballot application (formerly civilian absentee ballot) for the General Election
